Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing daily operations for warehouse facility including material shipping, receiving and handling, inventory maintenance and control, filing of field requisitions, issuance of material, tools, equipment and fleet with significant interaction with construction teams and office personnel.
  • Safely move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Sort cargo before or after loading or unloading.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Observe incoming materials, equipment or systems to determine hazards and act in a manner so as not to expose yourself or others to the observed hazards.
  • Understand and handle shipping and receiving documentation; read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Assist with project mobilization and demobilization planning and coordinating.
  • Verify purchase orders against packing list.
  • Evaluate small tools and equipment and complete necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance work.
  • Examine/inspect tools and equipment conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving opportunities that arise or that may be encountered.
  • Take corrective action needed.
  • Data entry in automated asset/materials systems and maintenance of accurate data.
  • Identify and assess improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested.
  • Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries.
  • Understand that no job is so important that your safety and that of your crew will be compromised.
  • Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your supervisor or safety professional.
  • If needed, use your stop work authority until the issue is resolved. Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed.
  • Participate in all pre-job work planning and safety discussions.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards.
  • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens).
  • Understand, support, and follow lockout tag out procedures.
  • Attend training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
  • Listen to co-workers suggestions, safety concerns, and recommendations giving full attention to what they are saying and take the time to understand the points being made, asking questions and providing feedback when appropriate.
  • Coordinate work with other co-workers on the job.
  • Provide on-the-job training and/or mentoring to helpers and laborers as needed.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.
  • Have ability to read and understand schematics.
  • Learn to observe functioning of equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Notify supervision of any hazards observed and utilize safety stop work authority as needed.
  • Examine/inspect work area and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered.
  • Take corrective actions as needed reporting any issues to your supervision.
  • If certified to operate equipment ensure that equipment is correctly operated, maintained, in good working order, and Daily Equipment Inspections are completed for equipment being used.

  • Basic Organizing Data.
  • Basic Problem Solving.
  • Forklift certified.
  • General equipment knowledge.
  • High School graduate with some college preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse or similar work environment, and a strong working knowledge of warehouse and receiving.
  • Must have working knowledge of and experience in material shipping, receiving and handling, inventory management, and the issuance of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $15.00/hour-$20.00/hour
